Please give us a short summary of your website?

Alaska Cakesations in Anchorage! Specializing in Wedding Cakes, Grooms' Cakes , Birthday Cakes, Special Occasion Cakes, & Company Logo Fondant Cakes. Our goal is to present to you a unique, custom cake that combines delectable flavor with personal design. Alaska Cakesations- "Where Flavor Meets Art!"TM

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I absolutely love baking cakes & experimenting with new flavors & designs so I thought why not get a website? I am self taught, but have taken additional cake decorating courses to advance my skills. I have been doing cakes for friends and others for the past several years. I have continued to learn more about the art of cake decorating and also perfecting the art of a moist and flavorful cake. I feel that this is equally important as the design of the cake, hence the slogan, "Where Flavor Meets Art"TM After all- who wants a beautiful cake that doesn't taste as good as it looks? So don't just have any cake-have a Cakesations Cake! I would love to design a personal cake just for you!

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is it. April of 2008

How did you decide on a name for your website?

My Husband actually thought of it after looking at all my cake pictures.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Easy to navigate. Easy on the eyes & it's personable.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To be one of the best designers I can be.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Great for now.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I like my site actually, so I would not change much. I looked at what I hated or liked about other like sites & went from there.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Mostly just jumping through the hoops for the city building code requirements. They have some pretty interesting guidelines depending on what they "feel" it should be.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Word of mouth & some advertising.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Since April '08. As log as I can.

What is your website address?
